You
have to drive through some of the most spectacular scenery on ‘The
Road to the Isles' to reach Marino Lodge. As the road winds through
rugged mountains and beside deep lochs, you pass the Glenfinnan
monument, at the head of Loch Eil, which commemorates the raising
of the standard of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745.
Marino Lodge, surrounded by its own estate, where you are free to
roam, enjoys an elevated position with panoramic views of Loch Ailort
to the islands of Rhum and Eigg. The property offers comfortable
accommodation, with a lovely new sun room with great views to the
islands, in one of the most scenic areas of Scotland.
The fishing port of Mallaig (23 miles) has boat trips to the western
isles, including Eigg and Rhum, where you may spot whales and seals.
Glenuig (4 miles) has a lovely sandy beach and the whole west coast
