Farleyer House is the former Dower House for Castle Menzies and sits nestled on a gentle hillside overlooking the green and golden valley of the River Tay and is a wonderful spot for a family holiday, reunion or small wedding. The house was once a luxurious country house hotel and it is the west wing of the property that is available. It retains its excellent furnishings and the bedrooms are exceptionally spacious with wonderful bathrooms The public space is equally well suited to large groups with a large lounge with open fire and a lovely beautiful dining room. There is the bonus of a Media Room complete with 42” plasma TV, surround sound, Sky channels, DVD player and a variety of board and table games for the younger or young at heart members of the party to enjoy. The large kitchen is beautifully equipped with a gas range cooker and a small dining area for breakfasts or childrens’ meals.
The bedrooms are situated upstairs and they will delight you with their luxury, the large bathrooms and in most cases, views across the gardens and valley. All the bedrooms on this floor are en suite. On the second floor are two further bedrooms, less spacious with combed ceilings but equally charming. These share a bathroom and make this an ideal “suite” for a young family.
Strathtay is a wonderfully scenic area with the famous River Tay winding up the valley. This area is excellent for all outdoor pursuits or just enjoying the scenery. The attractive town of Aberfeldy is 2 minutes drive away with very good shops and facilities and the nearby House of Menzies is ideal to enjoy a delightful lunch or choose from a vast selection of New World Wines.
