The Aline Estate covers over 10,000 acres of wild, rock strewn hill, moors and lochs on the hinterland of South Lewis and North Harris. The scenery is magnificent and in addition to crab, prawn and lobster potting, there is a great variety of other marine life to observe, including seals and otters. Aline is one of the few places in the United Kingdom where you are practically guaranteed to see the golden eagle.
The 18th Century Lodge was rebuilt by Sir Frederick Millbank and provides very comfortable accommodation with a high standard of catering, provided by Alines own highly dedicated staff. Most of the fish and game served comes from the Estate and the breakfasts, packed lunches and dinners compliment the days sport. The Lodge drawing room is warm and comfortable with an open peat fire and views across the loch and the dining room has an atmosphere of period elegance with mahogany furniture and walls hung with sporting prints and trophies.
The cottage enjoys the same fine views as the Lodge and is available for let separately.
