A very comfortable shooting lodge, surrounded by its own policies, on the shores of East Loch Roag, on the west coast of Lewis. With ten bedrooms, six bathrooms and a selection of reception rooms, Garynahine forms a great base for a mixed age party where the young can play billiards and watch tv downstairs, while older members of the party can play bridge and read in the upstairs drawing room. The family kitchen with Aga is well equipped and cooks can normally be hired if arranged well in advance.
The island capital of Stornoway, with a variety of shops and restaurants is only 20 minutes away. A colourful fishing port with ferries to the mainland and other west coast islands, Stornoway is well worth a visit.
Trips can be arranged on an open sea going boat to visit the beautiful uninhabited offshore islands in Loch Roag and there are many silver sand beaches to enjoy.
Activities:
Full sized billiard table in the Lodge. Sea going boat available by separate arrangement. Many sandy beaches to discover. Stornoway ( 20 minutes) for shops and restaurants. Ancient Standing Stones of Callinish to visit. Fishing and stalking by separate arrangement.
